A “Probate” is a certification provided by the Supreme Court of Victoria that confirms the legitimacy of a Will, allowing the Executor to commence gathering the deceased’s assets.

The “Letters of Administration” process is similar and takes place when there isn’t a Will; in this case, the next of kin is tasked with overseeing the estate and distributing the assets in line with legal provisions.
