“Probate” is a document that the Supreme Court of Victoria provides to validate a Will before an Executor can begin the process of calling in the assets of the deceased.

In the absence of a Will, the “Letters of Administration” process is instigated. Here, the next of kin is appointed to administer the estate, collecting and allocating the estate’s assets as per the law.
